I wanted to get some assorted spare bolts. I'm missing the rear brake hose clamp and bolt. I have a clamp, but none of my metric bolts fit. I also wanted to carry a spare gear change pedal bolt. I thought I would just buy an assortment, but I don't know what to get. I'm bound to need some others later. |

This would make a good Mastermind topic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_metric_screw_thread https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Thread_Standard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Standard_Whitworth#Comparison_of_standards (I like the Crimea War bit) |

My Dad wrote a book called 'The Real Richard Roberts' which provided some evidence that Henry Maudesley copied some of the work of Roberts when he developed the screw cutting lathe. The 'eat' (entertainment) smiley is supposed to be above your last comment Adam...Your Pa sounds like he was a very interesting chap from the posts I've read about him on this forum. |
