Tried to start my XB9S today and only fired up on rear cylinder. It last ran fine a few weeks ago and sits on trickle charger. Before I start going through all the reasons - is their a known/common issue to look at first?
Thanks
Paul, West Sussex, UK.

Last time it ran, did you ride it? Or did you shut it down when it was still cold?

:yt: If you start your bike it is always best to run it up to full temperature or they are very prone to fouling plugs.

Last time it ran was only for a few mins - so is forum view that its most likely to be a fouled plug?

Any hints on easiest route to get to front plug as it seems buried!

thanks

Paul.

Take the LH scoop off.......and if you think the front plug is buried, wait until you try and get to the rear plug :rotfl:

I have a specialist selection of hammers that you can use to break your forearms in the right places, thus allowing access to the rear cylinder - its the only way!

I thought you'd had enough of self mutilation after the 'tie wrap and scissors stabbing' event ;) :rotfl:

I used to know a girl that was in to self mutilation and other strange stuff.

One day I mis-heard her and went to buy a lot of stuff from M&S.

For the first time in my life, I can honestly say "been there, done that, got the Tee shirt to prove it"

Changing the plugs was much easier that I imagined. Take off front left scoop and a ring spanner easily takes out the plug. Rear is a little fiddlier but almost straight on access from above then use a bit of old fuel pipe to screw in the new plug and then torque down.
All running again now with the plugs you suggested.
