Is there a battery used in any H-D model which is the same as the Uly's. I am having trouble finding a battery in Portugal.

I won't be able to get one of these in Portugal. That's the point. Does the battery from a V-Rod fit the Uly? Someone on BadWeb suggested it did. I just want to check. There's a Harley shop down the 125 (the Algarve road). I could get one there .

Some Harley/Buell batteries are physically the same size, but what you have to be careful with is the Terminal polarity because these aren't always the same.

I get you. We're just talking about the actual terminals then. The 'polarity' bit confused me.

Nick - I've just checked our Ulysses and it has an Harley-Davidson battery fitted, the part number on the HD label is 65948-00A. Hope that helps....

The Motobatt Chart was fer you to use as a comparison as all the bikes listed on that chart use the same size battery.... (Regardless if it is a Motobatt or not)....


So HARLEY DAVIDSON XL, XLH (Sportster) (2004-2012) yes.......

Amongst many other makes and models of bike on the chart...........

Borrowed the battery off my dads '97 sportster when mine was knackered, it was the same size but didn't notice the terminals were the opposite way round. Blew the main fuse.

If there is an HD shop and the Ullys used HD batteries why can't the HD shop order you the correct HD battery as fitted when the bike was new?
And why is it so difficult to buy batteries in Portugal? ...................there must be motor factors etc that the locals use when they need batteries.

Maybe there are further east along the Algarve, but there aren't any out west. I'm going to go to the H-D shop about 40 miles away and see what they've got.
