Please and don't laugh, would you be able to hear the bearings fail,as when ridding the bike yesterday I could hear a loud metallic noise coming from the front which lasted only a few moments, bike seems ok,I don't think engine related.
How can I check the bearing? Or could it be something else

Could it have been a stone rattling behind the disc, then falling out :?:

Take the wheel out and rotate the bearing with your finger... Whilst you are at it, you might as well change them since it is so easy to do.

If they are in a bad state, you will see bits poking through the seal or the seal missing. Veccio Lupo had his bearing seal get pushed out and his bearing cage fail on the Ireland UKBEG Challenge... That made a noise...
