Hi All,

Anyone ever fitted an aftermarket oil temp gauge to the Thunderstorm motor and a Uly in particular?

No, but did see on ebay a while back, a replacement dip stick that had a temp gauge built in to it .just means you got to stop riding and then probably get on your hands and knees to read it, so not very practical IMHO

WHY ? .........................if you fit one you will only get paranoid that the oil is getting too hot on sunny days and then be too scared to ride it ;) lOl

I wouldn't know what was good or bad, best to maintain the bike properly and enjoy riding it...

True, but it didn't stop mine failing for the second time due to excessive heat. Top end has picked up, or, for some reason, it's dropped a valve, I don't know which yet until I get the bike back from France and can strip it down to inspect. :(

They don't like the :ill: :sun:

My Uly didn't suffer two up and fully loaded in 40deg plus heat last year in Spain.

I did, I was exhausted and couldn't last between fuel stops... :ill:
