Hi,

I was riding merilly yesterday when my engine managment light come on. I rode to the next petrol station and thank god it was a straight road because as I pulled up to the station I heard a scraping noise. Looked down and my side stand was open and no spring.

On closer inspection I found that the spring and plate were gone and the only thing that was left was the metal stand and the metal bit that connects to ECU. I couldn't ride it anywhere because of the cut off switch so after I tied the stand to the foot peg I disconnected the stand cut off cable.

I've read somewhere that couple people had that problem in the US. Does anyone know how can I find the upgrade kit/product code for the replacement?

I was lucky, if I turned left sharply or tried scraping my knee I would be updating the UKBEG forum in the sky.

Had the same trouble in Milan,But no need to disconnect switch just hook a bungy from sidestand to rear footrest.This served me ok all the way back and is easy to unhook and rehook when using stand.
The plate is just held on by spring pressure.I think the post holding the plate might prove awkward to modyfy with c sring or split pin,but i bet someone cleverer than me on ukbeg has an answer.
