 Post subject: Relocation help anyone?
PostPosted: 18 Mar 2012 23:52
Well the time is just about here for me to leave Blighty for sunnier climes in Italy. :sun: :sun: :sun:
Problem being I need to find an Italian version of Maz or Tubbs to help with maintenance of my bikes.
Does anyone know of, or maybe recommend someone please. I will be living about 30 mins south of Bolognia in a city called Forli.
I have searched tinternet and looked for Hardley dealerships, specialists etc, but so far no luck.
Any suggestions :?:

Numero Uno were in Bologna and were well regarded with H-D, think they were enthusiastic about Buells too. They also had Numero Tre, a Triumph dealership but not heard much about either in recent years.

I would like to recommend you, as you may have to take the maintenance thing in your stride and d.i.y, ask if you have any doubts on here , jealous of your move and good luck . :yup:

Many thanks for that Steve.
Done some research and it seems they moved to Milan after the death of the founder Carlo Talamo a few years back.

I've bought the service manual for the Firebolt and can probably undertake some of the simpler stuff. Know my limitations. But when it comes to the 1125R with all its electrical skulduggery.....well that's another thing!
Many thanks for the well wishes! :sun:

No Italian Buell forum? - I'd be a bit surprised. When I still did trips to Italy - the bike mag's often had Buell articles.

The less "tifosi" amongst us might suggest you should be buying something local once there ;)

How's your Italian :?: I've been Buellin abroad for over 10 years now, and have always found it hard without knowing the local language, even where facilities exist. Particularly the written stuff, both in small ads in newspapers, and local forums, because they're like us ere and don't follow textbook grammar and spelling rules :P The internet is your friend - this site for knowledge, and internet shops for tools and parts :P

Not sure when it is but if your over there I would imagine you will get the answers you seek there. Its on the Twin Motorcycles face book page if the link doesn't work maybe you have to like their page or something.

Can't afford a Bimota or MV at the moment but my CV will be winging its way in their direction! ;)

I can speak Italian so the language isn't a problem, but thanks anyway. :yup:
