Too far to have to go to get hold of HD oil, so I got the above locally instead. It's widely available in Portugal and Spain. I reckon the Uly (2006 model) is running cooler now. Chris in Madrid, do you use this?

I used 20W50 but now use the Repsol 5W40 TDi oil. I've always used Turbo Diesel oils since moving here. Having 2 TDi's now is part of it - but the E-Type ran well on it and so does the Guzzi. The Buell does too (though it now has a new daddy in Malaga). The R3 will move to the 5W40 too. Repsol's R+D centre is not far from us - I've been trying to get in their Beta-test program. But I seem not to know the right people - My niece who is in petrochemicals is trying to find the right contact.

Chris, you've sold the Uly?! Don't you miss it? I bought a Suzuki B-King in February but since then I've done 1000km on Big Suzi but 1700km on the Buell. A very interesting statistic. Usually when you buy a new bike you can't stop riding it. It's not like I don't like the Suzuki. I love it. It's vastly superior to the Uly BUT thee uuuuuuuuuuuh fun and has so much character. I'm riding to Tokyo next year and it will be on the Uly but a very well prepared Uly. It'll make it... :askmaz:

It was an S3T and no, not really. I'd had it 14 years and it was time for a change. When a new daddy was found on here and in Spain - it was only sensible to move on.

I get the odd twinge of regret when I try to throw the current beast (Triumph Rocket III) into sharp curves very fast. But I needed a big 2-up distance gobbler. Monti would not get on the Buell.

We'll be bring my old Guzzi a bit more up to date inside so it's got a bit more grunt - that handles easily as well in curves as the S3 (in my hands). If it were down to Monti - we'd have just the Guzzi (maybe 2).

Had a test run on a Rocket 3 in UK before I left. Have to say I much prefer the B-King, although no good for passengers but I never take any.

Have to agree - better than MacDonalds. Cant help thinking about food every time I see B-King written.
