Can someone please tell me how to check if my belt tensioner needs new bearings? There is very slight sideways play, only about 1mm, and a slight 'click' feeling when the wheel is spun round. |

I would say change them if there is any play, after all, it is down hill from here... Check the How To section for how to do it... |

Pash, I didn't want to post this in the "how to" section, as we need to keep that reserved for proper "how to" issues. I should, however, let you know that I have a very early 02 plate XB9R (registered 10/07/02) with twin 6203 bearings in the tensioner wheel. Don't take my word for it, Tubbs removed them and will confirm this (when he's recovered!). Not all of the early "9s" had a single bearing (unless the Buell fairies have been tinkering with my bike whilst I was asleep). Dave |

Hi DFS, thanks for this. I have never seen a tensioner wheel with one bearing in it as I have only pressed out those in my own. I will think of some good words for the How To... |
