Are there any mods out there to have both the lights working on a dipped or full beam, just think its a waste of a lense have only one action for each one?? Can you get different reflectors and fit twin H4 spec bulbs?? Any thoughts, as I did have a trawl through some of the older posts but failed to spot anything. |

I wanted to do the same on mine vspot, but from the searching i did on the old forum it seemed it was a no-no. I think the only way u could do it would be with some aftermarket units to replace the originals. |

it is possible to wire them to come on together. i used the side/parking light wire to pwer the dip, and a relay taking power from the battery to switch the main beam on. it can also be done by swapping the side light and dip beam wires around in the connector block on the loom behind the lights, but this might burn out the relay for the lights |

You can cross link it in the switch. The details are on one of the sites but cant remember which one. A yank one I think. Anyway it is what I did and although a bit fiddly only takes 15min. Also PIAA lamps are great as are extra spots. |

Just an idle thought, since I think I'll add an Uly to the stable at some point - How difficult would it be to replace the twin-lamp set-up with a good old single headlamp, a la M2? Is the bracketry that different? |

I've been thinking of doing the same with my Scg. I'm replacing the steering head bearings soon so at the same time will see what kind of brackets might be needed. The wiring behind the screen will need fitting inside the light and a bracket and cover for the ignition switch will have to be found or made |

I'd be interested how it turns out |

The difficult bits would probably be, finding the right headlight that will look good. Sourcing brackets, or getting them made, the ignition switch/steering lock, amd what to do with the wiring. I'm going to have a go at it over the winter, but it would be a good idea to start planning and finding stuff now. |

To my mind..... it would be easier to try source a H4 twin setup that will maybe fit into the same area as the present 2 lamps. Its no good messing with wiring etc because its the lenses/reflectors that are all wrong (1 dip...the other main). I have seen some chrome units on the likes of suzuki bandits etc that look like they would fit with a little persuasion.... |

Is the bracketry that different? I guess you would be helping the dog population were you to do that, since, apparently (so I've heard), every time a tuber is converted to a 2-lamp, Jesus kills a puppy. But seriously, you should see some of the auxiliary off-roading type of light rigs the Uly riders come up with on this side of the pond. Maybe Norm and GG could help sort you out. I have both lamps on all the time on my xb, and it's still not as good a lighting job as I would like. |
