Hi Could anyone please advise on the bearing numbers for timkin crank bearings to fit a xb12 motor . motor is being rebuilt over the coming winter and i want to fit better crank bearings than the needle rollers fitted at present...Thanks in advance |

I've also been looking into it but I don't think anyone does it in the U.K. at present. Look at companys in the U.S. I believe that Dark Horse do it. You will also need to have the case machined out. |

I have asked Maz about it and he reckons it will be possible but something that will need to be looked into properly perhaps if another couple of people were intrested it might be worthwhile for the likes of Maz to look into it. |

If anyone has a spare motor I'm interested in doing the required machining, been looking for one at not silly money anyway. Andy |

It was Spondon that Maz mentioned for doing the machining not sure about the bearings though. It is supposed to be a lot better having taper roller than plain and I think a lot of people have this done before getting any kind of engine tuning done because if they cant handle standard tune whats the chance of them lasting after putting more power through them. I was thinking of getting a big bore kit and fitting hotter cams but not with the standard bearings. |
