London parking strikes again.

What is it about people who have large bikes that they feel that they have a right to squeeze their oversized bikes into gaps a scooter will struggle with and end up scratching my bike?

Only a couple of scuffs that I can probably fix, but for f**k's sake, if the gaps too small, piss off an park somewhere else.

Just cause your bike's banged up doesn't mean you can bang mine up!

Grrrrr.

... And this morning I've dropped my brand new Caberg carbon helmet... Massive crack in the top :(

That's 2 bits of bad news... Just waiting for the third
:sad1:

A crack? What would have happened if it had been involved on an accident?

I think they should be giving you your money back...

Yeah that too, though it actually hit a sharp corner of stone pretty hard right on the 'flat' top of the helmet from up on top of my topbox (which I NEVER do in case if exactly this event!) straight down

I kinda saw it in slow motion as I was yelling "Noooooo!"

Pash is right, what good is a helmet if it cracks open when dropped from a couple of feet? it is supposed to protect you if you fall off a motorcycle, even at Buell speeds you will be travelling a bit faster than that! Disgraceful rubbish.....

Of course you're right, but I might be over egging the pudding - it's on obvious crack, not like it's split in 2 ;)

Either way I much doubt any of my previous helmets would have survived the same fall and impact.

Hmm... Maybe they would...

Anyhow... I guess I'll be off to the helmet store in Saturday for something NOT carbon.

(and write a letter to Caberg...)

Not sure that it's a carbon problem.....I bashed an HJC carbon affair pretty heavily (can't do light crashes when one is a lardy incompetent) at Pembrey a couple of years ago, it went back through scrutineering and I used it for the rest of the meeting .....

That's bad luck Eugene, and worse than that I've just bought the same helmet !

:? Well, hopefully mine was just an unlucky 'bounce' ?

I went via a bike shop last night and bought a Shark S900 in the graphite colour on sale for £160 - it's also got a 4-star Sharp rating compared to the Caberg Carbon's 3-stars

Really comfy and so far no issues, so £160 down, but happy with it :yup:
