Haven't stripped the engine yet (will wait for 1st service) but the rest of the bike has been in bits.
Cant tell you how impressed I am with the build quality and attention to detail, really could be compared to any of the jap bikes except for the nice touches that only a small company like Buell could offer eg. hand welded aluminium subframe.
Only criticism would be the need to rotate the engine to change the front plug.

In a completely different league to the XB series.......just when the company was getting thier act together, HD pull the plug

I've had a few XB nearly bikes over the years (and still have a Ss Long that I've abandoned to Mrs Adam) and never really bonded with them. My 1125 has pride of place in my shed, and is a much better bike. Mrs Adam is rationed with her use of the Helicon but it still doesn't stop her asking to take out my X1 when we go for a spin

Also just for a laugh: How much does a complete xb12 engine/gearbox unit cost, and are they still available?

Kinda like the idea of having one stowed away in the garage

I'm seeing xb's on the used market for less that 5K - sounds like more fun just to pick up a used one to have a second bike, rather than buying just an engine!
