New on here but rode the 1125 CR and R at Castle Coombe yesterday afternoon.

My thoughts were
It looks well made, BUT it looks awful
Cracking motor above 3k rev, fuelling is terrible below that, above 9k revs it vibrates a lot (new?)
Its very fast
Turns in nice on the track, a bit twitchier on the steering on the road than I was expecting
Front brake OMG that will take some getting used to
Clutch nice and light, gearbox good (but I'm used to BMW )

A good afternoon out overall! Well worth the time and money.

thats a fair point - when I first got my CR i was riding it like my old vrod. you just cant do it, thebike needs to be revved hard. It will reward you in buckets for it. Suspension set up is a good idea too. I need to work on this as well.

As previously mentioned, suspension setup is Very Important - that's a problem with demos/experience days - the bike is unlikely to be set up for your weight and will make a big difference to the handling.

Also make sure the tyre pressures are correct - again it can make a big difference - trouble is, when you ride daily, you do not realise how bad the handling can become until you bring the tyres back to their correct pressures ...

Rode the XB (my own) and Cr at the Zandvoort track day and really enjoyed them both. The CR with high handlebar suited me fine even better than my Xb, however the easy manner to 8000 revs and the 'blur' after that let me realise it has much more potential than i have.

I think I must have an odd bike then, it vibrates through the bars a bit between 4-6k and then smooths out ...

These bikes are covered by warranties Spook, why would one need to clentch ones wallet?

I got a stonking deal on my CR against my 05/55 Uly. It's all about being prepared for negotiation. Because I negotiated the deal right I'm comfortable with what I'll get for mine when the time comes to change it again. Never ever pay full price for anything and compare the deal against at least one other dealer to make sure you're not having your leg pulled. simple.

But you still ended up with a beta test model!

I do Beta testing for autotrader at my work, strangely was just on it now!
I'm testing something called Market tracker, to put it simply it gets rid of alot of the leg work when managing existing used car stock. I use my experience from the motortrade to help me with my bikes, I bought a "New" model with my eyes wide open to the fact I was a test pilot. I guess I am pretty lucky too as I have had very few issues with any of my (3) Buells I have owned and NONE at all with my current CR. *waits for the "you've not had it long enough" or the "just you wait" brigade to pipe up*

I test-rode the CR at Oxford HD and it blew my mind. Waaay quicker than my XB. I reckon it's quicker than my GSXR1100 too (but hard to compare them directly as they're so different)

But aren't all Buells test models ?

Even tuber models had recalls - some still haven't had them done !

And how many tubers are there in existence that haven't been "fettled" by their owners to improve them over what the factory saw as fit for purpose ?

And XBs are exactly the same.

I've always looked at an original Buell as a starting point ...
