Barely run in then, I wouldn't worry about the oil pump drive for another 10000 miles then

Good luck; I've never seen any that fit 'properly' and look good ;) lOl

At nearly £300, if they don't fit they will be going back.

 form over function , get the misfire sorted first and any other safety critical mods before you buy more bling

Check the primary chain tensioner has the thicker upgraded base, and isn't an aftermarket one waiting to jump off its base, jam in the gubbins and kill you....

Lucky hands upgraded oil pump drive gear should be on your list too.

Later upgraded rear and top engine mounts. Swap the mushroom Torx head rear mount bolts made of cheese for deep socket hex head ones while you're doing the front mount.

Welcome to the money pit! lOl

How do I know if I have the thicker primary chain tensioner, I take it that is the nut above the silencer on the bottom of the engine.

Thanks for the other suggestions. I think the engine mounts sound like a good idea.

Yes I had looked at that. I think it looks bloody awful as well. I was just a bit concern.ed that muck and wet would get thrown up into the half circle cut out in the bottom of the tail unit

Fit a carbon fibre undertray or make an alluminium one.
If you go with a carbon one you still get storage under the seat but will pepper from stones eventually

If you make an alluminium one you will have virtually no storage.

You can also buy an alluminium one.

Next question where do you buy one? well that's a trawl around the net I am afraid

The one in the picture is a carbon one ( mine)

I have to say that, that is one nice X1 Gibbsy. That is the clean look I am after about the rear end. It concentrates the focus on the important bits and makes the frame and engine a focal point.

Well it's been a productive day.

After a case of Delhi belly that side lined me from work I pulled the Buell from the shed and fiddled. Magnicore leads fitted, Ngk Iridium plugs fitted. Horn wiring rerouted so that it did not lay across the HT leads. Head temp sensor and other associated wiring tidied up and all the rest of the gubbins under the scoop cleaned.
Now I have a lovely tickover, only at 1500 rpm. Am right in saying that the thumbscrew that is positioned between the heads on that side is a tickover adjuster.

My girlfriend now thinks I think more of the Buell than I do of her, advice please.

Then I still have to polish the Ducati........................

I am in the shit.

Polish the Ducati? New rhyming slang for a wank?

No wonder the Cadbury swirl is feeling unappreciated.

Hell no, I was just being honest. I've got to sell it.

The Cadbury Swirl is in the fridge, I like my chocolate cold.
