Belt doesn't have a split link.
When the belt fails they cost a fortune and fitting is a major job.......this combination leads certain idiots to go the chain route :)

a builder i work for,s wife has a mini, its a limited edition that uses cam chains . the chains failed wrecking the engine. it appears it is not an isolated incidennt he now suing bmw for cost of repairs. belts rule :idea:
