The Albert can on my 1125 is the best sounding system I've ever heard on one - lovely tone 8-) If a Helicon ain't quick enough, get a Duc. Mine has 172rwhp and more importantly, 100ft/lb of torque over a huge range of revs - it scares the crap outta me :yup: lOl

If it's an 06 or 07 Uly I'd have thought that a good aftermarket can and airfilter would automatically give you more grunt after the ECU had adjusted itself (about 120-150 miles in the case of my '9') ;)

...not sure how 08'+s would react. :? Lots of previous on here about it! ;)

Suzuki B-King. I have a Uly but in Feb bought a B-King. Blows the Buell away from anywhere in the rev range, any gear, as you would expect and I think it's great. And it really handles as well...but, you know, I still use the Buell more. Not a lot more, but more than I do the King.

like they say fit an albert - theyre the business : still not loud enuf - ask him to supply a bit of extra tubing to slide up the middle and blank out as much of the perforated tube as you like - i found 50% was just about perfect and with the db killer out it sounds luverly but is still not a copper-stopper.

powerwise - dont mess with it - 100bhp is more than enough to have fun on - try riding it differently.

personally i found that once it sounds right you spend more time going slowly and listening to it.

( and no, theres no real popping and banging if the joints are done up properly )

Multistrada Mts 1200, I've done 10K on mine and it still makes me smile everytime I ride it.
Its very fast, i can cover mega distance in a day, the handling is fab and the luggage and design is utterly brilliant.
Its not loud though.

I did have a uly though and must admit, I loved it.

Spondon, how reliable is the Ducati, although you probably won't know yet? I've heard some horror stories. Good luck with it.

I also agree that albert makes very nice exhausts, but you don't have to have the normal albert can, he made a nice twin exit 'Micron' style can for me, sounds lovely, deep and grumbly, and then when you really screw it, it roars, people at work said it's similar to the noise a spitfire makes as it rips the sky apart....

I've done 10000 miles on it and apart from early teething problems with the ecu (mine is an early one), a shit back brake ( for some reason no one can make a back brake anymore :? ) and the stupid hand protector / indicators which break if you look at them hard I have no complaints.

I ride it in all weathers including snow and salted roads and it still looks and goes like new, can't say more than that really.

1250cc - 1340cc (with cases machined) - bang

A few grands worth of work for about 20 hp extra lOl

You could buy a fireblade for less!

Forget about tuning the motor. The key to going quick, is getting the handling sorted to your own personal spec ;)
I've revalved and resprung the forks on my 1198 twice now (and it's still not right  ) and fitted a new spring to the rear shock as well, but got away without having to have that revalved.

I'm sure if you just stuck the 1340 kit on a stock bottom end it would more than likely go bang.
So what can be done to the crank apart from balancing? Carrillo or Arrow rods.
How much bigger is it possible to go with the valves?
It would be an interesting project.

Interesting but pointless, thousands of pounds chasing a handful of extra horsepower!

:yt: no use having loads of horse power if you cann't get it round the twisty bits :D or stop at the end of the straight  that is of course unless you intend to ride in the USA with their long straight roads that go for miles and miles :?:
