Hi,took the xb9 for a run sunday and yesterday, almost got the tyres hot, sunshine and blue skies, even avoided the car owners virus! very near perfection. anyway started to prep the X1 ready to tax for april, while giving the headers a bit of shine I found stress cracks on both pipes coming from the bracing gusset on the right just below the air filter, bollocks the TIG welder is with my Son 25 miles away and now were all in lockdown.has anyone else managed to repair similar cracks? can I seam weld over them ,or should I sleeve them to spread the load, any advice welcome,no rush I don't think that we are going far for a while!
