Until you've ridden a Triumph Thruxton R through the streets of Oxford in torrential rain wearing a dinner suit you'll have no idea how important that is Planning to take part again this year with all causes being very close to my heart so expect to see a begging bowl from me as well in the next few weeks.

As most of you know I'm quite passionate about this cause because early diagnosis and fairly radical treatment saved me from prostate cancer nearly nine years ago. I was quite vocal about it at the time and hope that being frank and open about it might help others who would otherwise ignore it. If ever any of you have any concerns and want to talk to someone who has been there then just let me know.

Since the early days The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride has progressed from just prostate cancer to men's health generally with a specific focus on men taking their own lives. As a community that's something that has also touched all of us here so any support you can give to myself, Nutah, probably t965m and anyone else who gets involved would be much appreciated.

I might even drag the Buell out of the shed

so on my advice I dragged the X1 out the shed
(which was a bastard as I'm off sick with plantar fasciitis )

put a new battery on ,
with an empty fuel tank cycled the fuel pump several times , just to make sure it worked
then added some E5 , cranked it over & started second go
let it gently warm up for 20m , then shut it down & changed the engine oil .
canceled the scooter MOT & booked the Buell in instead...

she passed
Guess I will be taking the Buell on this years DGR then

As the Start point is the cafe at Southampton HD , I can wave the Buell flag
at the tassle tractor pilots

Or as YOFFI used to say of us "Buelligans"
