Re: Santa Pod drag strip
It's getting close to the start of the season again, 22nd of February to be precise weather permitting 🤞🏻 the race fuel is ordered and the bike has been checked and double checked, hopefully good things to come, and as always if anyone is up for a go give me a shout and maybe we can hook up and keep the shiny side up 😜

Re: Santa Pod drag strip
Last Saturday was my second outing this year already and quite a weekend it turned out to be.
Friday was getting it all ready day and all went well except I started to develop one of those annoying dry coughs and feeling something wasn't quite right in my throat, however I said nothing to the missus and carried on regardless.
I drove down on Friday evening through torrential rain showers then parked up at the venue gates for an early start next day as usual.
Saturday dawned bright and sunny and I was first through the gate, there was a couple of hours delay while the track crew dried out the new freshly tarmacked run off area but as usual did a sterling job making sure it was 100% safe for use.
My first run at 11.5 confirmed on my return to the start line by ex Buell drag racer "Little But Quick" Joe Elliott himself
Not bad I thought considering there was a fairly stiff headwind and I was still feeling decidedly under the weather,
My times got better as the day went on with a 10.99 and a 10.95,
I even managed to get a prize for the fastest reaction time of 0.0627
Something to look forward to collect on my next visit
I managed to complete six runs, could have been seven but I missed the call out after lunch due to having a swift kip in the van.
Elated but absolutely knackered I drove home and it was with all the effort I could muster I managed to get the bike into the garage and parked the van and trailer on my driveway.
Showered then straight to bed I was ordered by the management where I remain to the moment of writing this, I ended up with the worst throat infection/ flu type illness I have ever been unfortunate to have, however I'm on the mend now thankfully and planning my next visit.
Onwards and upwards they say
p.s The Rwyb challenge has been reinstated this year due to the lifting of restrictions which means at certain meetings points are awarded for things like
Best ET
Best RT. me Autoglym prize package
Points for each race you win and even points for just turning up with the overall winner getting to run at the Flame and Thunder later in the year.
Hope that explains things

Will do Steve, and negative x 4 covid tests, the penicillin I was prescribed seems to be doing the trick.
So much so I'm booked for next Saturday 26th, better get that NOS bottle refilled
