That would be really nice of you & be good to see you & Pepper there. Osteveo's coming along as well, not sure if he's riding either.
May even see me stall on the start line (worst fear).
Thanks willybuell.

Re: Santa Pod drag strip
Hi Folks,
Made the trip to Santa Pod.
The main thing I got from it was that it ain't as easy as just getting the hammer down.
It's extremely technical.
Had 3 runs up the strip in between seemingly endless streams of cars, karts, rain & 20mph headwinds.
Unimpressive 13.5's for two rides, last one may have been a little quicker & held my own against a Yamaha Fazer 1000, but I left straight after without getting a printout as it was 4pm & the chance of another run was very slim. I still had a 100 miles ride home to do.
So well happy with the day.
All the best. Paul.

Re: Santa Pod drag strip
Thanks Nutah,
Yep definitely both of those.
Trouble is?
Gus told me it was addictive & lo & behold, it's been in my head today. Wasn't sure yesterday whether I would have another go.
Today? I'm thinking about CR gearing before my next go. Damn!
Pretty sure I could go faster. Double Damn.
All the best. Paul.

I do hope you can go quicker than that, JB. From memory I think our man, Littlebutquick, clocked either 9.2 or 9.6 seconds on his 1125R
Mind you, he weighs nothing, has a lot of experience and had invested heavily in making his bike very quick.
He's not been here in a long time and I can't even find him in the member list.

Hi Steve,
Yeah, first time for me.
Eleven point anything seems a million miles away, but I could definitely go faster with Cr Gearing & some Velocity Stacks (Stacks I've now found). They'll bring the power band into a much more preferable range & when I find Cr gearing (not easy, I've been looking since I had my first ride on this) it will allow me to use the power a lot better.
It's far to highly geared as standard to accelerate like it can. Christ, this thing doesn't start really moving or lifting the wheel till I'm in 4th gear & I only made 3rd at Santa Pod.
I've done mine for the road & smooth running through towns, luckily, neither of the things I've mentioned will degrade that smooth running, the power will just be more in my face.
That will be it for me, as that alone will be more than I can really afford to spend on my 1125r & would be better off starting with something faster if I was going to pursue 10.11.12's
I'm still not trying to make my 1125r go faster, just much quicker off the mark & through the gears.
Most of the guys down at Santa Pod were on bikes they brought in vans with Air shifters that cost as much as my bike.
I'm not going there, that's for sure, but would like another go with the mods I mentioned.
Maybe next year eh?
All the best & thanks for your interest. Paul.

A little bit of digging and I came up with some history.
Not suggesting that you try to match his results but I'm sure it will make interesting reading for you
An initial post from UKBEG, followed by the link to Badweather Bikers then a link to the Twin Motorcycles site.

Re: Santa Pod drag strip
Kudos to you for running down the strip in what must have been shitty conditions!
Sounds like you need a CR btw.......

Thanks Steve.
It was the same for everyone & didn't stop them getting 10's heh heh. I'm pleased enough with just having a go to be honest.
Cr rear Pulley £115 new & about the same shipping & tax + a new belt £200 + Shipping.
Fuck that!
I'll stick with what I've got till something comes along 2nd hand.
Converting it to a f****n' chain would probably be cheaper!
Thanks again, did you get out on the DGR or was it rained off?
All the best. Paul.
