Yesterday we visited the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (LAHC) to confirm the final arrangements for next Saturday’s event.

Regulars will be familiar with how we run the event but it’s worth repeating the main points for the benefit of new visitors.

When you arrive at the Aviation Centre all motorcycles will be directed to a separate entrance around the back of the main hanger where Jane and I will be located. The entrance fee is £7.00 per adult for motorcycle riders and pillions. Please try to have the correct money when you arrive. This helps us on the gate and speeds up your entrance to the event.

If you have a pre-booked ticket for the Johnny Johnson Dambusters event you can present it to us at the motorcycle entrance.

If you’re not coming on two-wheels then you’ll have to park in the normal public car park. It’s a bit of a trek on foot around to the motorcycle entrance but only admission money collected by Jane and I will help to raise funds for Emma’s Charity.

LAHC location and event web page: here

Event timetable:
10.30am-12.30pm: Aces High/Johnny Johnson signing
11.00am: Avro Lancaster taxi-run
12.30pm: Avro Lancaster taxi-run
2.00pm-2.40pm: Johnny Johnson lecture
3.00pm-4.00pm: Aces High/Johnny Johnson signing if required
4pm: Avro Lancaster taxi-run

I put copies of the posters on both the Lincolnshire Bikers and the Willy Woods riders facebook groups CJ so hopefully that will generate a few more visitors ;) I'm planning on being there about 10am if that's OK, will probably leave a bit earlier than normal as planning to ride back with BA in the afternoon ready for Copdock show on Sunday.

Not going to be there this year. Too far to ride just for a chat and a cuppa. Sorry. It always worked well combined with other events. Hope it all goes well :4roz:

Kev, thanks as always for your help and support with this event :worthy: …….

This year we’ve gone back to the simple format that we’ve used in the past and to help keep costs down we’re not hiring a van and we’re not using a gazebo. There won’t be a lot to set up so if you could arrive around 10.00am that would be ideal.

We have use of the parking area in front of the control tower and if required we can overflow onto the concreted areas around the tower. The area in front of the main hanger has to be kept clear because they’ll be running the Lancaster in and out for their ‘Dambuster’ event.

As usual we’re stopping at the Red Lion, Revesby on Friday and Saturday night. We’re really looking forwards to our long weekend in the Lincolnshire Wolds  ….
