Just curious to learn if anyone is heading over to RAF Fairford on Saturday for the airshow.

Anyone have experience parking the bike at such an event?

I was at a fly in day on Thursday, when we had the rare treat of parking (the car) inside the airfield and in sight of our vantage point at the south-east taxiway.
I have previously during the 1980's parked bikes (but not my Buell) in the airfield.

Except that now this is not always possible. After security scares over the years, parking to the main week-end shows was moved from inside the airfield to surrounding farmers fields. Not so good on a bike because you cannot watch your pride and joy, so I wouldn't do it today. :?

I have seen motorcycles parked over the road near the south-east gate compound in sight of the guards, so you could try contacting the airfield or organisers and inquire whether parking is 'infield' or where you can park it safely.

Rain is another complication as one year recently the farmers fields turned into a bog and the event was cancelled. This year Saturday looks likely to be very wet so anything might happen.

The irony is that in years gone by when all cars parked on the grass inside the airfield there were no problems when it rained because the (MOD spec?) grassed areas are mostly firm and well drained.

Good luck! ;)

Just been reading the website. They have hard parking for bikes on both entrances. Will need to get there by 07.30 though. Lovely! A ride through the rain! Grrrr!
