Another successfully completed UKBEG Buell Challenge under our belt (and shaft) - 1,938 miles and no major problems. It works out at an average of 352 miles for each of the 5.5 days we've spent on the road. Highest daily mileage was just short of 500 on Saturday between JOG and Preston.
Road highlights included the A9 with snow capped mountains in the Cairngorms, the A9/A99 up to Wick and JOG and the deserted A7 from Edinburgh to Carlisle, across the beautiful Scottish Borders.
After not using it for 2 years, concerns about reliability
* (in its near original state) were always in the back of my mind but the S1 didn't miss a beat. It didn't let me down and it ran true and strong in all conditions. Being 6ft 3", comfort, or lack thereof, wasn't as bad as I expected. Sure at the end of each day I was squirming a bit, but taken as a whole I found that I could easily ride until refuelling at around 80 to 100 miles in each stint.
I'm sure we'll come up with another UKBEG Buell Challenge for next year, although I may go back to pampering my posterior

and use the Ulysses.
* From new it's been reliable - 26,421 miles to date.
