Our invite to the BSB round last September did arrive at short notice. I was told that it was a spur of the moment decision by Silverstone's management to invite a few bike clubs along, offer them stand space and special infield parking for their bikes.

The arrangements for BSB weren't perfect. They forgot to send out vehicle passes with the tickets and aspects of the campsite needed improvement, but it was their first attempt at something like this and was something of a learning curve. Despite the shortcomings, all of us that took advantage of the BSB package really enjoyed the weekend - and saved a lot of money.

I have every confidence that when we receive our Moto GP package it will have been worth waiting for. I'm not overly concerned about the lack of news at the moment but I fully understand peoples frustration about having to wait so long for details.

If I haven't heard anything by the end of this week I will contact Silverstone again and copy their reply onto this forum.

Nigel, you're right, diplomacy, it usually works....

BSB - Friday 24th to Sunday 26th September.

Am I the only one who thinks Silverstone is a completely shit bike circuit?

I was offered all-singing-all-dancing hospitality tickets for the MotoGP & turned 'em down lOl

It's better to have a shit circuit than no racing at all, like at Donington....

That's right, rub it in......Turned down tickets??? You could have auctioned those tickets for Em's charity...

Not sure how much truth there is in the rumour I heard today .............was told that some of the other events at the motogp weekend have been shelved and there is uncertainty as to whether the GP will happen due to some financial problems that have occured .........not sure whether this involves Silverstone circuit itself or some other company involved .................................made me wonder if there might be some truth in it seeing as how they are stalling in their organising.

:yt: We will be hoping to go to them all at Silverstone, but if the MotoGP is cancelled, then it's no great shakes.

There's a possibility of the Moto GP being cancelled? Sigh :( ....

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Like I said ...it was only a rumour .......BUT they do seem to be badly organised at the moment.

I would think that their resourses have been stretched a little, now that they're also hosting the 2010 British F1 Grand Prix - an added bonus for them but a real pain for us !

I have no doubts that the Moto GP will go ahead there, but I do have concerns over how much they will throw at it now that they've got the F1 back - they will have to suck up to Bernie Ecclestone as it must be more of a cash cow for them.
