Unfortunately, due to very limited space, we were unable to provide you with an internal parking area for this event.

I can advise that all bikes can park in the external Car Park 49 – no passes required, and cars can park in Car Park 50 – passes are required for this area. If you anticipate several of your members to arrive in cars please provide me with a number and we will issue some passes, subject to approval, to ensure you do not have to purchase them separately at your additional cost.

from the helicopter shoys there's plenty of room where the bike clubs usually park
just dorna and silverstone are a bunch of c##ts

i sold our tickets

I think someone at Silverstone is a biker and is doing there best, but keeps getting trumped by Dorna. Fucking wankers!!....The TV deal with BT could well be death nail for MotoGP in the UK. All a bit short sighted and sad really. :headbang:

Agree with Alan about the infield parking for the clubs, especially at such short notice.

But I still enjoyed the racing especially the Moto2 :)

The food choices have improved, even found decent coffee, but the prices are very expensive. Not entirely Silverstone's fault, I think DORNA could help out here, sharing a small percentage of the TV rights with the host circuit would help.

I did notice that there were several large trucks parked where the clubs would have been.

Thanks go to CJ for organising the tickets :)

Honda Owners Club seemed to be there with a number of bikes parked by the stand as well :o

Great day's racing and beautiful weather too. Bumped into Jill and Ade and watched the support races with them :D Saw lots of people I know there and also spied a Hero Blue City Cross in the bike park. Anyone from our anticipated crew?

Steve

My weekend got off to a bad start. I camped in the Woodlands camp site. When I returned back to my tent late Friday night some wankers had took my tent and Everything in it!!!! Had to sleep in my car. Early the next morning I found my tent screwed up between 2 cars. I know who did but had no proof.

Still in the end it was a good weekend. Good weather. Silverstone really is crap for viewing and there's not much atmosphere. To top it all off I'm writing this from Luton airport, I should be in Switzerland by now, but missed my flight!! :0)

Didn't see one single Buell all weekend ?

Mixed reviews about the event and circuit itself but I'm glad everyone got there OK...

I must admit we've always enjoyed our visits to Silverstone. We usually watch from the Luffield corner grandstands and combined with the large screen that's opposite that location on race day, there's a great atmosphere and you can follow all the action around the track and the entrance to pit lane.

Thanks CJ for organising tickets, definately yes for next year and I might need more tickets as Harley rider here & Moto GP fan from Germany were jealous they weren't there :worthy: :yup: :sun:

Well........

Considering Ade wasn't the most enthusiastic partner for the weekend to begin with, I managed to persuade him that going to see the qualifying on Saturday instead of walking around Oxford seeing the sights was the better option. Fortunately he now agrees with me completely. We had such a fab time. We didn't leave the circuit until after 7.00pm on Saturday, as we went to the live stage after watching the qualifying and witnessed the Riders for Health Auction, where they raised obscene amounts of money. There then followed numerous interviews with all the GP riders, very off the cuff and frank..... a great experience and a good laugh. Huge crowds on the Saturday....don't think I have ever seen so many people at a race meet!!!!!

Sunday we left our hotel at just before 8.30 and hit the standstill traffic at the first Brackley junction on A43....thank goodness we were on Ade's bike!! Filtered at a sensible and responsible speed through the stationary cars....(suckers...lol) and arrived at the circuit just after 9.00am. So glad we made the effort to get out of bed early!! lOl

We had decided that most people tend to fill the stands within reasonable walking distance from the entrance, so we made the effort to walk to Village A which was a free grandstand to watch from which also had the added bonus of having a TV screen opposite, so you didn't miss any of the action around the circuit! Great viewing point, and one we will always make the effort to get to in future!!!

Saw the Rossi pass on Bautista (or was it Bradl :oooops: ) Great racing anyway!!! So exciting to watch. Had such a fab time....weather was a great help too!

Think we may camp next time, and book the Monday off work, so we don't have to fight our way through the traffic, and can enjoy the whole experience!

Thank you CJ for sorting the tickets etc. :yup: :4roz:

I know people had issues with the lack of parking within the circuit, but to be honest we parked our bike in the bike park, and didn't have any issues getting in and out of the circuit.

We will be booking our tickets again next year!!

Such a shame you had a bad experience at Silverstone. Did you get all your possessions back with your tent??? I sincerely hope so... :yup:

It was a shame we were unable to park our bikes on the inner part of the circuit. That was the only reason I didn't ride my bike to Silverstone. It was easier (and cheaper) to just ride pillion to my husband.

You need to know Silverstone to get the best viewing. It is such a large circuit, and it is always best to find a spot which has a viewing screen, otherwise you miss out on all the action.

I hope you haven't been put off coming again....that would be a real shame.....

I looked at the Silverstone website last night and they are not doing roaming grandstands next year and a 3 day ticket is £105-115 depending on whether its premium or normal - I've tried to fing out the difference without success, both with a £10 saving for early booking.

CJ are you going to book tickets for next year as I wan to be sitting where Redding bowed to the crowd as it looks like one of the best places to sit. If you need 10 places, I want 1 for me, a guy at work will take 3 and a Harley riding friend may want one or two. Does that solve the bulk buy problem?

As for Kev's comment about the thong photo, try taking a photo indoors with lots of zoom under strip lights (no pun intended) and without flash so the boyfriend doesn't notice! I failed on all counts as the boyfriend did see and he wants copies!
