Yep some great racing as usual and great to meet up with everybody ......I'll use Harry as my excuse for making me go in the car .....thanks CJ for bringing the guards and also Harry asked me to say thanks for the hat as he suddenly realised after you'd gone he hadn't thanked you personally.
My mate is in for some serious silent treatment from his daughter though
As you guys who were there saw she was riding fantastically in the 125 class and battling for 3rd place .........so Dad enters the same bike in the adult class and he's battling at the front as well ( he used to be a top class MX rider in his youth).
All working out nicely until Dad seizes the bike in his race and destoyed the piston putting daughter out of the racing for the day ...................................To say she wasn't impressed
I did feel really sorry for her though as she is really riding well this year ....gone from an also ran last season to a battling in the leading bunch this so she really needed the points today

It wasn't easy you know, we had to turn the heater down at one point ....

Despite our difficult journey wrestling with heater controls, music cassettes and choosing which sweet to eat next, our annual trip to that jewel of the east coast, Mablethorpe, was well worth it. Great company and bike racing on the beach, with a tasty fish & chip dinner thrown in for good measure - perfect.

UKBEG members braving the cold northerly wind blowing across the beach and promenade were myself, Jane, John, Kathryn, Richie, Darren, Kev, Harry, Derek and Lynne. There was even one Buell motorcycle, a XB12XT Ulysses.....


Hot bike action....

I didn't use the camera yesterday, it was nothing to do with cold hands, but when I took the camera from its bag I was alarmed to see the lens cap on my new-ish Canon 100-400 lens had been forced into the thread, and a tinkling of glass could be heard inside I gingerly opened it today, and to my extreme relief found it was just the filter that had broken, presumably when the bag had been under an aircraft seat last week which was then reclined .... so, lesson learned, it's the overhead locker for me in future! (Well, for the camera bag, anyway ...)

John - that was an expensive sounding rattle, glad it was just the filter.
