Just posting a 'hi' note. I have loved the Buell concept for ever, but only now in a position to treat myself to one. I went on the Buell experience day a couple of years ago and truly loved every bike I rode.

So now I am in a position to own the fun bike I want, I can't just walk into a dealer a pick a new one up. Ho hum.

You might be in luck. I bought a second hand one this week which had only 1000 miles on it and was first registered in June. So it's almost a new one. :-)

Thanks for the welcome.

I've been trawling small ads and thinking about a very low mileage bike... now to convince myself there's no trouble sourcing parts and I'm good to go!

I had similar worries, but as I understand it HD are committed to providing parts for the next 10 years. Even then I doubt they'll be too many issues as third parties start taking over.

most consumables , plugs oil etc are same as HD sportsters .
Brake pads , bearings & air filters are readily available from a variety of independent suppliers .
what model you thinking of ?
an XB , 1125 ,
..or a Tuber ( a tubular framed real Buell )

where are you located ?

:maz: The Emporium , is in Manchester , if Maz aint got it ,they never made it !

or BlackBear HD http://www.blackbear.co.uk/ ask Steve

both are members on here
both highly recommended by members/ customers :sun:

have a good read , of all the Tech section, Buell chat ,to see what to look for
Remember though the nature of forums ,we all moan when it goes wrong
but many don't post so much when it's right

I'm based in London, but am originally from Suffolk, so a trip to Newmarket once in a while would be good for me anyway!

I'm starting to think that future servicing etc. should be OK, especially as this is an enthusiasts bike. If I wanted a totally easy life, I'd buy a Honda Cub 90.

So... now to find the money and buy something over the winter.

In an ideal world, I'd pick up a very low mileage Lightning, but Uly's and 1125Rs seem to be quite common on the 2nd hand market. The CR is a truly beautiful bike, but they seem as rare as rocking horse poo.

Anyway - I think the decision is made! I'll continue to read up as much as I can and start hunting.

Welcome !

There's a CR on Ebay at the moment - but it is a bit of a trek -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/09-BUELL-1125-CR- ... 35ad7bf800

As it is being sold by Edinburgh HD some of our Scottish members may have seen it so you could put out an appeal in Buell Chat about it.

Hi,

There's a CR at Speed Superbike Centre in Exeter, (www.speedthrills.co.uk), great service and good prices.

Bought my Uly there and they were top notch.

Thanks all. I just bought a spanking new 1125R which has been gathering dust for a couple of years from Black Bear. Very excited about picking it up asap!
