Post subject:  Hello everybody

Great site guys. I met some of you down at Sammy Miller's a couple of months ago and I've been poking around a lot before taking the plunge and registering. The technical forum I found especially informative, to the extent I may have thought twice about lightening my wallet so much by acquiring an 1125r if only I had looked first instead of just having a test ride and liking the ride, distinctive styling and unusual features.

Still, at least I know I'm not alone in owning an unreliable American machine. Mine has had the recall loom mod and is currently back with the dealer for a new alternator and regulator after letting me down on the road two weeks ago with EMS and generator lights staying on and eventually running out of electrical power for the ignition only five miles from home. The Buell breakdown assistance was useful and I feel the two year warranty will be well used. With all the tales of woe I've read, I consider myself even luckier that I bought mine at the bargain price after HD's ill-considered decision. It certainly wouldn't be good value for money at full price. Perhaps Buell isn't the marque for me as I much prefer riding to spannering but it's such a joy through the twisties I can't wait to take it for a track day next year.

There I was thinking unreliability was a thing of the past when I got rid of my BSA Bantam so long ago. How times change (not!); now we have more advanced components to go wrong and pretty lights and computer messages to tell us when they do; how wonderful is progress! I can see why so many of you own more than one bike; as do I for the first time in my life and at twelve years older, my Blackbird is so far proving more dependable. Without that, I’d be more annoyed with each passing fair weather day that my Buell spends with the dealer awaiting parts.

Here endeth rant and thank you for reading.

BTW – You shouldn’t have shied away from the obvious name for this website; the humourous aspect would have lent a certain charming eccentricity – Buell Owners Group.

Welcome !

The problem with the 1125 models ( and all Buells if truth be told ) is that when they are running they really are so much fun ! I own two so that should one have problems then I have a spare - although up to now they're not as bad as they seem - everybody focus'es on the negative - you don't get so many posts saying how good they are - but now you've joined the club you will know the truth - the good far outweighs the bad !

Every time I ride my 1125, the motor gets better and better. Today, I went with Mrs Adam for a spin on her new bike. When we swapped bikes, for a laugh, I told her the 1125 must always be kept above 5k rpm. When she gave it me back, she said 'it's a bit lively, isn't it?'
