the 9 revs a bit quicker, the 12 has a bit more torque
but you need to ride both to see which floats your boat :yup:

I've got the 9 and love it didn't like the 12 felt like an age to rev. Not much in it really. IMO the 9 is better. Good luck in finding one you like.
Like what's been said before you need to ride them both to make your own mind up.

Thanks for your time but here we go again :o The chances of riding the two are slim as finding them isn't the easiest thing and then getting to ride the pair as well ! As for the luggage comment sometime i will need to carry crap and luggage would be needed :oooops: After plenty of reading it now looks like i'd be changing wheel bearings but the XB9 may now be on top how do they compare with the XB125 in front tyre wear why are front wheel bearing an issue and what other problems are lurking. Seen an XB9SX on Ebay in London finishing soon have a look if you want its blue tell me what you think thanks again Peter

Buy a bike.

Ride it.

Learn how to remove wheels and bearings yourself.

Indeed they fail miserably. My rear ones only lasted 15k on the first set, and the 2nd set has now only done 16k..

Fronts were changed at the 30k service.
