OK that's about it for my Manx Gaelic...Even that may be a bit dodgy.

Not taken delivery of my Buell yet....

It is coming late next week, if all goes to plan.

2002 XB9R well cared for & sorted, by the looks.

I am a shortarse greybeard. Started riding in the early '70s & have had allsorts.

Most of what I have had has been either Brit or Italian.
I still have a Guzzi, a couple of Triumphs & a Cagiva V-Raptor 1000.

Yes, OK, I am a bike junkie! :oooops:

Not a total stanger to Harley power. ;)

I had an '85 FXRS Sport with all the Squawkin' Chicken bits.
The engine was a belter.....The rest.... adequate.....if that!
I put a JMC swing arm on it which helped it some to go where it was pointed.

It was fun to ride it as it shouldn't be ridden! :yup:

I'm downing a flagon of Porter.

Who else is up for it?

Welcome to the Club. 8-)
I spent many a happy hour in the Tynwald Hill Inn in the 80's. :yup: :sun:

Thanks.

Aye, that would be quite a few 'managements' ago ;)

Personally, around that time I used to frequent the Ballacraine Hotel.

Hence the screen name. ;)

Well Nige you must have seen thousands of bikes over the years whizzing round the Island yet you still choose an old Buell. :yup: Sounds OK to me; welcome

Absolutely.

Contrary to popular opinion, I am not deliberately awkward.... :oooops:

It is just I have never been 'mainstream' in anything really.

It certainly goes for my bikes too.

Eclectic selection of my motorocycle ownership 'high spots':

BSA M21 600cc Sidevalve Single with Coffin sidecar.
BSA A10 Chopper which gradually morphed from front to back into a cafe racer.
Wideline Norton with Saab 3cyl 1000cc W/C 2 stroke engine....Solo. :yup:
Suzuki GS500 rolling chassis with Yamaha XS840 Halco engine. :yup: :yup:

Gives you some idea anyway. ;)

I used the Ballacraine Hotel to watch from quite a lot in those days too. :yup:
My mate Rex did a doughnut in the public bar of the Tynwald Hill Inn on a brand new Honda CBX. 8-)
Certainly got the Germans away from the bar until the rubber smoke cleared.
Happy Days.

Yes, times when most of the real silliness was kept off the road & in the bar where it belongs. lOl

Eyup and Welcome!

Very familiar with your neck of the woods 8-)

We've a few folks on the Isle, all worth getting to know.

Wideline Norton with Saab 3cyl 1000cc W/C 2 stroke engine.

I would like to see a picture of that!

Believe me....

You wouldn't.

Black with gold doylies, belts lashing all over the place.
An experience rather than enjoyment.
I bought it part done, cheap.
In retrospect I should have done what I was intending to do with it.
Put an H2R Kawasaki proddy race 2-stroke triple in it.

Much more sensible.... :yup:

Still not sure about the gold doylies though.

Like your sig BTW.

Bonzo Dog Doodah Band IIRC?

Right...Gottit! :)

Took an inaugural run yesterday afternoon.

It feels like a mountain bike that pedals for you. lOl

Very sweet handling.
Not monster urge, but certainly enough to be fun & useful on the Island's roads.

Impressed so far. :yup:

Now I have done some minor fettling, prior to putting it through the registration test.

Cleaned up some contacts, freed off, copperslipped and replaced some fasteners with stainless. I checked the preload on the rear shock. It was set at maximum, so I put it mid way.

Gave it its inaugural run on the Mountain Course ( which btw celebrates its centenary next year :yup: ).

Rear suspension is a little on the soft side, but holds line & copes well with our notoriously bumpy roads.

We both enjoyed the run.

Still looking very good.

Now to get it Manx registered!
