Howdo, I bought a cherry red XB12SS after seeing (and hearing) a load of Buells on holiday in Italy. Unfortunately, I don't have my full bike licence (CBT only) even though I've ridden Competitve Trials and learner/city bikes for many years. As a result its only done PDI mileage so far and is on a SORN from new. Currently, the plan is to just look after the bike over the winter and get the test in Spring. So, my question is - how best to look after the bike while laid up? How to stop any potential rust etc.. Cheers Iain McL |

Your luggage looks a bit wonky, and you've got a duster over your numberplate, in case you didn't realise..... ![]() |

If you don't have room in your kitchen, then your owner's manual will tell you what you need to do for winter storage. However, take it with a grain of salt at this late stage of winter... only a coupla months to go. |

This may be one of my biggest mistakes of recent times..... We've totted up the finances over the Christmas and its become bloody obvious that we are spending far more than we are earning. As a result, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to keep the Buell (certainly not if we want to be able to go on holiday this year). If the wife and kids got to choose between my bike and a summer holiday then its no contest unfortunately. As per usual, I get hold of something brilliant, look after it then end up selling it reluctantly. Just last year I sold a mint S14A 200sx just after sorting all its minor niggles and still regret it. Any suggestions as how best to sell it? Ebay? Autotrader? others? Cheers Iain |

Ouch, that's gotta hurt. If it was me, I'd hold onto it for another month, it'll be easier to sell and may fetch more once spring finally arrives. |
