Dudes and Dudettes,

I am very happy to have found you. I am a longtime ADV.com member, and I recently moved to Germany from New Orleans, Louisiana USA, talk about culture shock, these guys take everything serious. :ner:

I'm an old guy with about 38 years of riding and no common sense. I started with a 3hp mini bike at age 10, and graduated to a real bike in 1975 (Honda CB125). I then started a doomed love affair with Norton Commandos :headbang: that ended with a long term relationship with Moto Guzzi :yup: . I purchased an 09 Harley Davidson XR1200 and became impressed with the Buell technology used on that platform :worthy: . I crashed and totaled the XR in New Orleans, I always liked Buell and decided if I could find a nice Tuber for cheap I'll buy it. I purchased a 99 S3T from the original owner in Reno, Nevada and had it shipped to New Orleans and 4 months later shipped to Germany. I am a born again hooligan

I love my S3T and have become a fan of all Buell products, I became one of the faithful just in time to see Buell crash and slip away. Chin up, I will find the right XB this year and retire the S3T to part time rider.

I look forward to the Moto GP season and maybe some special events like Goodwood, Silverstone, or the Ilse. Thank you for hosting this site  , and I can't wait for the snow and ice to melt so I can get back to tearing up roads.

The geography will be a problem for me due to the long travel times from Stuttgart to the UK, but I will make some events. I'm working on clearing my schedule for the 1000 mile Irish Coast Challenge.

By the way, I like those B.O.R.G. boys here in Germany, but I don't sprechen Deutch so it becomes difficult. I speak Italian, but the Duc love is too deep down there.

You Guys look allright to me, and as we say in New Orleans: Where Y'at (hello, how are you doing today)

Hmm... New Orleans to Stuttgart... do you work for a car manufacturer? 8-)

Hope to catch you when you get over to the UK.

I wish I had a sexy job with Porsche or Mercedes, heck, even BMW would be OK. Alas, that is not the case, I am an ex soldier, turned policeman, now employed by my own Gov't here at lovely U.S. European Command. Where I destroy mountains of paper, and poo poo on everybody else's ideas.

That's a heck of a job description. I can imagine an annual appraisal would be fun if those were your objectives! lOl lOl

Thanks for the replies, I'm glad to be here and hope this turns into a great experience for me.

I'm working on the Irish Coast thing, I'm thinking of a weekend trip to London (couple weeks prior to the event), staging my bike there somewhere, doing a roundtrip air fare thing so I don't have so far to go on both ends of the event.

I'm just trying to avoid using all my vacation days traveling up and back. I had planned on using them to visit some Moto GP.

Again, thanks for all the good info. I found you guys from the UKBEG Irish Coast Challenge notice on ADV.com
