Wahey!
Picked up my new 1125r today and rode it back from Leeds.
Started off gingerly but by the time I got to within 6 miles of home it felt like "my" bike! What a fine piece of engineering it is too!
Was worried I 'd been a bit hasty with my decision to go for a 2008 25th anniversary model... but over the moon!
Still in the break-in period. 6K revs = 90mph ... can't wait to get it run in and out on a track!

The only positive side I can see at the moment, is I can get out and ride albeit as pillion on my hubby's FJR....

Did your bike have the latest reflash that emerged a couple of weeks ago? I was in a dealers the other day and they told me that the flash didn't exist  , and then it took a couple of months for reflashes to reach the UK  , eventually I asked if they would hook it up to the Digitech to check. Guess what, there it was
The flash makes the bike even better than the previous flashes it's had :yup: 8-)
The code on the printout they gave me was M3HECO62.

Thanks for that.... I asked about the recalls and the dealer said "well it came with a bag of recall items and they were all fitted.. the re-flash had already been done, apparently.

TBH I was so excited that I took his word for it but have since come to my senses and requested written confirmation on what work exactly was carried out.

I seem remember that the front brake line was a problem on the 08 models? There's a clear plastic protector fitted to the RHS fork, so I guess that solves that problem... braided steel lines are pretty tough anyway, right?

The clear plastic protector comes as part of the recall kit. The brake line should go on the outside of the fork leg, they're surprisingly easy to damage if they rub. They can also chew into the fork leg once the plastic wears through. There have been several flashes for the '08, each being better than before.
The were recalls on the dip stick, stand spring and the gearbox mainshaft should have a bung knocked up the end to ensure more oil comes out of the shaft radially.
Keep an eye on the breather hole on the clutch cover. Hydraulic fluid will eventually leak from there ;)

Hydraulic fluid leak? Is that WITH the recalls being done?
I'm assuming they will honour the 2 year warranty anyway, so that's peace of mind.

To be fair, my old commuter cx500 has more fluid leaks than a welsh shepherd... Honda won't honour the warranty after 30 years though, apparently.

:hehe:

Yep, the slave cylinder will leak. Make sure they don't just refit the same seals. There's an improved system that's fitted as standard on the 2010 models, fortunately it will fit the earlier bikes.
Then there's the waterpump seals to be sorted.............. ;)
