First registered last October and have been on the site nearly everyday since. Thought it about time I announced myself. I have always admired Buells and almost purchased one 9 years ago, chickened out and went for a ZX7R instead. Heyho, my loss Did my research and as I know Eric (Fat Crip) from another forum, I asked for his 10 pennyworth. Unfortunately I was not able to get hold of an M2 Cyclone or X1 (sorry Eric, but you were right, they are getting hard to come by) so I got myself a lovely XB9s. Now I know some of you don't class these as real Buells but, each to his or her own Built in 03 and registered in 04 at Southampton HD (the bike, not me!). 11 years, 6000 miles and 7 owners later, now residing near Lichfield, Staffordshire. Bike stills looks near perfect apart from dent to header. Was going to change it until I read that you have to rotate the engine. Think I will put up with a slight imperfection (it is 11 years old you know!). It's has a Free Spirit tensioner and possibly Jardine end can (no badge present) and has had a white wire mod. I have recently acquired a tall seat and intend to ride upto the Emporium (as recommended by Eric) to have the gearbox grease nipple mod and check over ( I know how much he loves XB's Great site but expect some stupid questions! you have been warned

Welcome matey. I hope you have more staying power than the previous owners. Enjoy the bike and it's foibles and don't get too paranoid about it. |

welcome ref the exhaust IIRC it was the 12's that require rotation , but see he's the man I believe he has a special tool for locally heating up and releasing corroded exhaust nut's /stud's
