Post subject:  Newbie saying hi...

Hi,

I just wanted to introduce myself.
I'm Pete from Leigh-on-Sea, Essex (yes an Essex boy...... well I say boy, I still consider myself one but my DOB would suggest other wise! )

I recently bought an 05 XB12S Lightning from a mate at work who treated it like his first-born, so I was well chuffed when he told me he was selling it and I happened to be able to buy it.

I hadn't ridden for nearly 3 years and my last (and only) bike was a CBR6 so as you can imagine it's been a 'bit' of a change in riding style but I love it.

Anyhoo I just wanted to say hi, I've seen a couple of threads I'd like to ask more about and thought it only polite to pop my head in the door first.

Cheers
Pete

Pete, as Pils says there are several of us around here. I have an XB12Ss Lightning Long and so too does my pal about a mile from me. I am in North Shoebury so not far from you. I also have a mate in Bishop's Stortford with an XB12Ss and we meet up from time to time for a run. pm me if you want to pop round for a coffee and compare bikes.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys and it's good to hear there are some of you local to me.
I would deffo be up for a meet, maybe when it's not pi55ing it down tho eh?
I must admit it's a totally different animal to what I'm used to and finding it a challenge at low speeds. I did post on this thread viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13802 and got some great info that may help.
I'm not at all confident in the wet at the mo but am really enjoying riding again.
I think mostly it's that I haven't ridden for a few years (was never that fast anyhoo) and so am 50p-ing roundabouts ATM! LOL

Thanks John, I'll deffo pop round at some point, got a lot on at present but will sort something out.

Oh on another note I'm not getting any notifications of posts on this thread (or the other one I mentioned) what do I need to change?

Thanks
Pete
