Hi

Afternoon all, I am Nearly a Buell Owner,

I dropped by HarleyWorld in Chesterfield last Saturday for a look around, They had in a part exchange Buell XB12XP (Police) Jan 2009 Motorcycle (Without the Lights) with 4800 miles on the clock which I really liked the look of.

As I am looking for a new commuting bike the sales guy recommended that it would be really good for commuting on and will not need as much cleaning as my Harley.
My wife was there and she spends a lot of time on the back of my bike visiting rallies etc with me, she liked the look of it and could easily get on and off the bike and thought it was very comfy so I purchased it and pick it up on Saturday.

They threw into the deal 12 Months MOT, Road Tax, New Back Tyre, SS Exhaust and 2 Years Warranty so it sweetened the deal.

I don't know much about Buell's :?: and have never ridden one so hopefully it will be ok.

Looking forward to collecting it :D .

Joth

Welcome to the forum ... You could well be out first 'Police' Uly owner :)

Cleaning ... ? If you don't keep it clean and tidy it will rot. It will need almost as much cleaning as your Hardly. ACF-50 is your new best friend! :)

To be honest, if you have no intention of cleaning a Buell for 2 years, you don't deserve to own one in the first place! They are an enthusiasts bike and WILL need looking after :)

ACF-50 is an excellent spray to keep salt and general road crud at bay, even so you will still need a soapy bucket of water over it now and then too. Who wants to ride a rotten crusty old bike!?

I have enough polishing the Harley, I have bought this bike to ride all year, I don't mind spraying it with the ACF-50 and washing it but I won't be polishing it.

Is that ok

There isn't much to polish on an XB, just keep the bits that corrode covered in ACF-50. It will certainly take you and the wife long distances and in comfort :yup:

Hi Willybuell

I have got my Buell XB12XP and enjoying it alot, I will try and get down to MFN on Wednesday Nights, let me know when you are going down.

I have purchased my tickets for the Lightning Rally at MFN in Aug/Sept which is for anything Harley / Buell / MT350 etc. and is sponsored by HarleyWorld in Chesterfield.

There are some really good Bands on and camping is free of charge. If anyone else is going down we can have a few beers and a chat.

Joth
