Hi all , I am new to this site although i had my X1 Lightning from new in 2000 . Done lots to it over the years , custom paint ,delugged bits , chromed and polished everthing I could , uprated suspension (from S3) stage 2 tune , custom exhaust , getting boring now so I wont continue the list We do lots of riding , mainly europe ( not on the buell although we have done Normandy on it - not as bad as you think it might be , except for the wife on the back who had to carry the rucksack !) for which we have a bmw1200lt , yep the big one ! Been riding continuously since the 70s (old fart) with numerous bikes from X7s to VFR750 (the plastic cams one!) to XS1100 to Z1300s to ZZR1100 and so on , but I can honestly say that I have more fun on the Buell than on any of the others . Do any members live down here in the Kent area to meet up for a ride out ? Any way enough of my drivelling , or do I mean dribbling , I have a question Has any member fitted the twin headlight conversion from Trojan Horse ? they sell these with the fork clamps (seperate buy) but these clamps dont have the fairing brackets, also the headlights , being a pair would leave a large gap at the bottom of the fairing . Is there enough room to recut the bottom of fairing to fit around the new headlights ? how do you remount the fairing the the non existing brackets on the new clamps - or do I reuse existing clamps with the brackets ? I can frabricate something but wanted to get any help first . Thanks for any help . ![]() Quote: theres no buell like an old buell ![]() |

As Maz says the single light on your X1 is far better than the twin ones off an XB,(as an old XB owner myself) although kevmean has a great twin headlamp on his X1 that outshines all, not bad for dogging i heard! ![]() |

From a VERY recent swap from XB to Tuber I can echo the above ... the headlight is like a WW2 search light compared to the candles of an XB! Here is a picture of Maz standing in front of a Tuber headlight ... ![]() |

I know I shouldn't make a comment here, as I am just a girl.....,BUT I haven't got any complaints about the lights on my XB, and yes, before anyone makes any sarcastic comments, I HAVE ridden my bike in the dark!!! I am quite happy with my XB headlights.....they do what it says on the can..... ![]() |
