Hi,
My name's Dave
I have just joined the forum.
I have just bought an XB12R from Black Bear, just before xmas.
I have owned several other bikes including two Harleys and quite a few big Jap bikes.
When I go to Newmarket I always make sure I go into Black Bear to have a look around. I was only shopping for an Xbox controller this day, but ended up buying this Bike from an enthusiastic Steve Loxton (very nice man).
There ain't nothing like an impulse buy to stir the blood :D
Previously I had not thought about a Buell and I was going to have a couple of years off riding and had sold my Fireblade in October.
Anyway my garage was too empty, this is a great looking bike, road tax is being bought today, first ride (as I have not even had a test ride and all being well) tomorrow, now I have got over my cold.
Wish me luck.

Hi Folks,
first off just a question about braking in corners, whats braking?

Had two outings now, the first thoughts were oh boy what have I bought. No it ain't got the speed/acceleration of the Jap bikes and to be fair it was a pretty crappy day to try out the handling side of things with some really greasy roads, I didn't go far.
Just got back from ride number two (a better, if not colder day) and took it round my favourite bits of twisty road about 50 odd miles.
It is certainly a different ride, what I didn't notice at first is that the corner speeds were a lot faster than the bike noise makes out (if you know what I mean).
I need to get some new tires on it pretty quick (there is not much tread left) but once I got them warmed up the cornering was very stable and the ride was very comfortable. It is going to take me a while to get the hang of a nimble 1200 but all in all i'm very happy and can't wait for some warmer weather.
Hopefully see you Guys on the road :D

Welcome.
There's a few of us just up the road in the Dereham area, and we're out every weekend, especially as the weather is damn near tropical for this time of year !
So get some new boots on her, and get out. lOl
