Just for your information I am a bit of an old f*** currently enjoying the merits of a 1125R but a little apprehensive of the suspect areas such as the clutch slave cylinder and loss of charge (voltage regulator defect) which have been repaired under guarantee.
Have joined the group following a chance meeting with a couple of members last week who had stopped at Bumpers Farm roundabout Chippenham on their way to the NEC. We had some friendly chat and they pointed out that the slave cylinder was under investigation as this was a design weakness and that the alternator (I think) also needed a modification. Hmmmm, methinks, is this bike going to cost me a lot of dosh in the future when the guarantee runs out ? ?
Then we talked about wheel bearings and the exhaust muffler as indeed the + merits of the machine as a whole - anyway, thanks for the chat.
I bid them farewell and got on my trusty push bike thinking, better go and order my vespa.

Welcome to the joys and idiosyncrasies of Buells. I too am enjoying my 1125R and my warranty ran out a couple of days ago.

Fortunately mine is a 'toy' and not my day to day transport (I'd want a Honda for that). Buell ownership will always have a few downs but I enjoyed riding the XB9R massively over my 9 years with it and I expect the same fun (but a lot faster) with the 1125R.

The guys on this forum will keep things as simple as possible and hopefully the main weak points (clutch slave cylinder and alternator) will get sorted (hopefully the slave cylinder fix is well on the way).

Oberon Performance are on the threshold of marketing their very own clutch slave cyl, that won't break the bank A few of us have been testing them and they are beautifully made. They work very well too
