Hi All,

Name's Dan, I'm based in the midlands and have just purchased an '04 XB12S....my first Buell! I don't get it until next week but I'm just a little bit excited about it !!...... so no sleep this weekend!

Ive pretty much owned run of the mill jap stuff to date (oh, and a KTM!) but I've wanted something a little different and have fancied a Buell for a while now so I've taken the plunge! For four wheel vehicles I've nearly always owned Alfa's (the non Alfa's were either Fiat's or Lancia's) so I'm well versed in and happy with the 'involved' ownership experience....except all my tools are metric of course !

I've been having a scout round and this looks like a great forum with plenty of useful info. I've already downloaded a manual so I'm now on the hunt for a cheese grater eliminator, FS belt tensioner....and maybe some sort of performance exhaust !!

I'll now doubt be asking lots of newbie questions over the next few weeks so please be patient!

I was told she wouldn't be ready until the end of this week then I got a call at 4:30pm Friday to say she was ready for collection!.... I couldn't get there until Saturday lunch but have done 200 miles on her since and am very happy.... I've removed the rear footpegs/hangers since collection, apart from that she's totally standard in every way! There's one or two minor niggles, low speed hesitation/reluctance....which I'm guessing a decent service and a TPS reset will resolve and a couple of marks on the wheel rims I'd like to touch up..... but other than that I'm very happy!
