hi all just thought i'd take the time to say hello, my name is rob just bought a lightning 12ss last week done 70 miles on it so far, i'm use to japanese bikes to be fair (z1000, honda sp2 etc) but wanted something different. From what i can gather up to now.....what a bike handling is brilliant feels very positive through corners, front wheel seems pretty well planted to the floor pops up some times out of corners in 2nd i think it was, reading reviews before i bought, i was under the impression that they are a wheelie monster, whether this means using the clutch or on pure power i'm not sure? its on a 08 plate with 6000 miles so power should be all good i'd of thought. Going to do some mods to it like the usual exhaust, air filter and some sort of fuel commander to improve the performance. I no a lot of people ask these questions but which really is the best thing to buy for all three of the above as there seems to be a few options in makes and ways like ecu remapping or powerizer or micron or remus etc, do you need the headers to be replaced at the same time to improve things further? i've been after one of these for years to will be attending some meets if any are arranged with these bikes. look forward to hearing some replies. thanks

how much is that exhaust then, i take it you make them, look good, they must be very loud though? so will that just bolt straight to my 07 plate downpipes then? what about fuelling? thanks for your reply by the way

:yt:

like albert says ->

K&N, can ( his are very good and sound great - too quiet for me with the baffle in - but its personal ) and forget the fuel device - the ECU can be remapped to cover most requirements.

you bought a fine motorcycle - enjoy it.

And to enjoy it for longer, recommend Maz's grease nipple fitting, and a Free Spirits belt tensioner. No use upgrading other things without these simple items to add to the bike's life.
