Hi ,
Can anyone recommend a good insurance company they have used, is there a Buell specialist out there?
I have a 1125r with an after-market exhaust and an EBR ECM about to be fitted?
Thanks for reading my question!

Hastings are K+n paranoid , E-bike are dearer than Carole nash who gave me a good quote on a four bike policy for £262 .04 two yrs ncd :old: bastid driver no commuting as don`t work if I can help it. Hope it helps. Remember they do not expect you to look around. Check online quote for same company that sends you any quote.

MCE Insurance halved the renewal policy on TOH's FJR and added RAC cover!! I will be getting a quote from them for my bikes next year. :yup:

Hi Guys thanks for the replies,
I'm fitting an EBR ecm for the Barker's pipe i'm getting from the USA.
Does everyone declare their modifications?
Any hassle from your insurer?
I'm hoping its all going to cool it down and prevent any stator issues..
.... am I dreaming ? ;-)

Absolutely do your shopping around with Insurance, play one against the other once you find the cover and extras you want, probably save even more pennies,
I got a good quote from Adelaide this year.

DEFINITELY declare the mods, If don't and you never have to claim you'll win, but, if some blind twat takes you out and the assessor spots the undeclared mods, you're stuffed. I've seen it happen to umpteen boy racers and unsuspecting bikers alike after I've cleared up after them :!:

Greetings by the way :)

Thanks Mcrbuelligan, i've just looked through all of that ... its now half 2 in the morning! ;-)
really interesting, and i made my decision from the USA shoot out, the best for the cheapest i thought, so they are now winging their way across the pond.
I've yet to fit them, but hopefully shouldn't be too difficult, then i'll see if i can live with them for the summer.
How do you get on with your insurance company telling them you have a one off specialist exhaust? any refusals?
Thanks

on barkers site don't they claim to have won the shootout?
but also keda says he won the shootout???
on my insurance (ebike) both bikes are stated aftermarket exhaust up to 5% increase in power (if i remember correctly)
you shouldn't have a problem

Post subject:  Re: Hello I'm a Newbie .... and I have an Insurance question

Hi, whether the Barkers won or not was probably up for debate by a few of the different manufacturers, I think, what was more important to me was the balance of how much performance gain for the nicest sound, yet not too loud, for the cheapest price, and the Barker's was the one that ticked the boxes for me, It probably didn't out-right win any, but together, i was happiest with its results.
I really like the hand made exhaust made by Albert, its nice to support a British exhaust and would probably have put my name down if i hadn't bought already the Barker's, but thanks for sending the link.
I'm not very good at linking things but i'll try and post a few photos or a vid if i can when it gets all fitted.
does the job require a workshop manual, or is it pretty straight forward? there seems to be 08 and 10 versions but it doesn't seem to be easy to find an 09 version. are there significant differences betwen 09 and 10 models? Cheers guys!
