Alarms usually save you about 5-10% on your insurance.
Data tool system 4 costs about £350-400 fitted.
You need to way up the cost if it's worth it. All bikes I've had with alarms have been a pain in the arse.
My tuono is 6 months old it's been back 3 times because of the alarm next time it goes in I'm having it removed.
I agree that alarms can be a pain but I don`t agree with the "worth it" statement and cost effectiveness issue.
How many times has your alarm deterred wouldbe thieves? Maybe never as no-one has tried or maybe 10 times but you`ll never know. I would rather have an alarm that gives extra protection and cuts down the risk of theft, than not bother and have all the hassle of claiming and being bikeless.
I have used Datatool on all my bikes and rate them but that is just personal choice.
