just buells/emporium evacuation
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... an-6730188
just off the phone with maz, he's been evacuated along with everyone else in his building as a bit of the structure is unstable... just though i'd post this on here as i'm sure there are many of you that would be keen to help in any way you could.
fingers crossed it's nothing too substantial, and he gets his stuff out of there ok if it comes to that.
(also lots of opportunity for saying things like "trouble down at t'mill")

Re: just buells/emporium evacuation
Had same call off
the building is unsafe gable end coming away from main building! Lets hope we can get back in soon and empty the unit as all
livelihood is in there and my bike too. So it's all hands he needs to evacuate the unit when the chance arrises. Which could be very soon! This is where the Buell family come to the rescue. Think relocation and storage may be needed rather quickly.

Wish I was a bit closer to be able to help when the call comes , hope there are plenty of Buellers in the area that can help with transport and some secure storage for him.

Re: just buells/emporium evacuation
The shit just keeps on coming.......structural engineers on site reckon it'll be at least a week before they decide whether the building can be made safe or need demolishing.
During this period the site will have 24/7 security and nobody will be allowed in......if they decide to demolish, it'll happen with all the business's as they were left this morning.
So, Sillyb's and Magz X1's as well as tyranomonkeys M2 will be buried along with my collection of Buells and 100's of thousands worth of Snap-On, garage equipement and 37 years worth of my working life......everything I have is in that shop.
.......and the best bit......the engineers/demolision company is owned by the same bloke that bought the mill last year......guess he'd be heart broken if the mill fell down or needed demolishing as he could then develop the site......

I hope they do allow Maz (and the other business owners) access to the building to salvage as much as possible. As Maz says, it's his life in there...!!

Re: just buells/emporium evacuation
Just a thought Maz ........ I'm guessing your insurance is separate for the buildings owners ........ maybe a chat to them regarding deciding if the building is safe for you to save everything and them a substantial payout might be worth asking because if what they have to pay is a large enough sum they might want to send a surveyor them selves ..................... it could stop what appears to be a slightly dodgy situation from the new owner.
