For the early aircooled model. Anybody got any ideas as to where there might be some. I can get hold of 50mm (standard) and other sizes, but not 51mm...... must be good quality, Wiseco, Prox et cetera...... Thanks.

Thought about machining them down, but it would take a lot of strength from the ring land.....

Thanks Tubbs, the RM80 piston is the same except it has a 12mm gudgeon pin and the RM100/T200 has a 14mm....... I appreciate your thought though. :worthy:

Not possible due to the cast shape of the piston...... all avenues explored.

Most people sell pistons, these are OK for road use, but the race bike revs to 13,000 and the pistons readily available are Taiwanese 'Linsey Doyle and Chork' brand and can't stand the rigours of Terry 'Lack-Lustre' Brocklehurst's right wrist..........

I called at Thorntons in Shrewsbury yesterday (a proper old fashioned shop where the the counter staff still wear brown coats with a vernier stuck in the top pocket 8-)
They have every oversize piston and ring for my 1947 JAP motor (although it has a modified VW Golf piston in it lOl ) but unfortunately nothing that could help you :(
