Don't get rid of them! I believe that the law requires a motorcycle which has a pillion seat to have pillion pegs, not having them could be an MOT fail.

My S1w got an advisory for no pillion footrests. Good job, I hadn't noticed

I was warned when I last got the X1 done.

My reaction was to look at the X1, look at my own arse and say "what pillion seat?"

No mention made on my last MOT in August - mind you, I've got a Gunfighter seat which doesn't look as if would support an arse of any kind anyway.

I'd just ask first if it's a problem ;) they may turn a blind eye to it, but like Norm says worth keeping for the future if it does become a problem.
