have you tested the old ones ? or are you trying to swap them one at a time to fault find ? |

The rev counter jumped about erratically when the misfiring happened, makes me pretty sure its either the ECU or the HT coil breaking down. I plan on swapping the coil first, if that don't fix it I'll swap the ECU Boomerang |

OK ![]() i did have the same issues with mine when the ignition switch melted you can by pass the ignition switch , then see if that clears the misfire . |

I'd be very surprised if either the ECM or coil were faulty.....tacho bouncing around is usually caused by CPS or switched ignition fault. |

I did think the CPS could cause the problem, I had similar ignition problem on my Africa Twin a few years ago and David Silver told me its quite often the pulse transmitter that fails. I will add a CPS to my shopping list Boomerang |

I had problems with a split in the LT wires going to the coil, I think Bonzo also, check the connection where they push onto the coil terminals ![]() |

I think its sorted now, found wires at HT coil terminals loose, made them all tight and the bike has run perfectly since. ( Funny that loose connections worked when cold and played up only when it got hot though ) |

![]() Ohms law... ![]() This equation, i = v/r, tells us that the current, i, flowing through a circuit is directly proportional to the voltage, v, and inversely proportional to the resistance, r. In other words, if we increase the voltage, then the current will increase. But, if we increase the resistance, then the current will decrease. |
