I'm sure there's a thread about it, but what's so good about fitting an alloy oil tank? |

Got one on my X1 and it holds more oil. I suspect the ally might conduct the heat away better than plastic. |

Nick, I know I got a 'spare' (was leaking) tank from the guy I bought my X1 from, but having looked through the boxes in the loft of the garage I have drawn a blank so looks like I must have thrown it ....... very unlike me (hoarding tendencies normally prevail) If it does turn up then I'll let you know. Can't you get Maz to talk to Metmachex to get them to make it to the correct design? |

Had a metmachex one on mine for years, never had any bother. Extra capacity and a heat sink on a hot running engine. |

I suspect that there are loads of M2/S1 ones under benches in sheds up and down the land... ![]() I was shocked to see the juxtaposition of wiring etc on Pedro's X1 with a Metmachex tank ![]() ![]() |

They are Metmachex, Metal Machining Experts... They make bespoke stuff, just as sillyb's new supplier will be making, however Metmachex already have a tank design that can be modded. |
