I'm looking for a used standard Showa rear suspension unit for my 2001 Buell X1 Lightning. the unit should be working and ready to fit.
if you have upgraded your unit for a modern unit and still have the old one knocking about please contact me with details and your (sensible) price including postage. Cheers!!

Had my one refurbed about three years ago by a company called falcon they gave a twelve month warranty and charged me £150 for the pleasure.
The shock has performed perfectly ever since.
Now I can guarantee this will now start a debate going and everyone else will tell you it's a bad thing to refurb or mess with a shock, but mine is fine.

You wouldn't think twice about refurbishing your forks...

Here's a badweb link to rebuilding the showa shocks ........there are also links on there where people have had them rebuilt only for them to fail again within a year.
If there is any damage or wear at all on the piston rod etc replacing seals would be a waste of time and money.
